We will meet at 9:00am Saturday, 26 August 2023 to hike about 4 miles on intersecting trails at SCNC at 205 Old Commerce Road, Athens GA 30607 (off of Commerce Road/441N). The trails are easy to moderate and the hike should take less than 2 hours but wholly depends on our pace.
There is an indoor education and visitor center open 8:30am-5:30pm with an interactive natural history exhibit, live reptiles and amphibians, and bathrooms. There is no charge to park and no entrance fee for the park or the education and visitor center.
We'll meet at the benches outside the doors of the visitor center. Participants should bring water and wear sturdy walking shoes. If anyone wants to carpool, let Slate or Martine know and we'll figure out the best meeting place based on from where anyone is coming.
