2023 marks the 75th anniversary of our Florida-Georgia District of the LCMS. Our district began with 22 congregations in 1948 and now has 192 congregations and 59 schools. As we recognize the missionary Spirit that drove that increase, we also recognize the ongoing opportunities around us: Less than 45% of the United States is connected to the Body of Christ and our two states of Florida and Georgia have seen ongoing growth of 2% per year. People need to hear the Word and we are in position to share it. Towards that end, our District is looking to raise $1.5 million by September 2023 for the purpose of providing $150,000 grants to start ten congregations over the next five years. For every $2 donated, $1 will be matched. No gift is too small and no gift is too large! If we exceed our goal, we will have more funds to start more churches!! Visit flgadistrict.org/celebrating75years for more information and/or this video and see how to support the effort.
